The official opening is on Friday night at Project Contemporary Artspace on Keira Street from 7pm.
The official opening will feature artworks, and performances from Lucy Furr, Wollongong drag queen Roxee Horror and ten-year-old drag queen Jackaranda.
The program runs until September 15.
It includes drag performances, an art exhibition, a drag make-up class, drag sewing class, tea party, drag storytime, Fright Night Pizza Party, an open mic night for musicians and comedians, and a Queeraoke Collab Party.
Most events will take place at the artspace, with others also at the Servo Food Truck Bar in Port Kembla and The Little Prince.
One of the festival organisers, Michael Emmett, who will also perform at some of the festival events as Connie Bathory, said the festival, now in its third year, had grown considerably.
"Each year we've grown more and more, and added more events," he said.
"It's great that it's just been embraced so well; the response from the public is just fantastic.
"The events are completely inclusive for anyone and everyone who wishes to explore their creative side."
The festival is organised by The Rainbow Underground.
TRU's purpose is to provide safe and inclusive spaces; and provide creative opportunities for queer identifying creative people and their allies in the Illawarra and South Coast.
