Albion Park take on University at Ian McLennan Park on Sunday, hoping to reunite the women's championship trophy with the State Cup title they won for the fourth consecutive year, with a 2-nil triumph over Epping.

They've already secured their sixth premiership in the last seven years, including an unbeaten streak which stretched more than 50 games.

Uni stunned Albion Park 5-1 in their first clash this season, though they've since turned the tables in their past two clashes, including a 4-nil victory in the major semi-final.

Albion Park Richard Davis said he was unsure if the majority of the squad would stick together next year.

"A lot of them have been playing together for a while now and it's credit to them for the dedication they have and how hard they train," he said.

"They've been so successful for a long time, so hopefully we can win one more and then see what happens.

"I guess it's like anything in life, when you get a bit older and there are other priorities.

"We know Uni will be really tough again, we've got a lot of respect and they've closed the gap on us again this year."

Uni had a shot at snatching the premiership in the second-last round.

They needed to beat Park to be within reach of the league crown, but went down 2-1.

For Park, Brittany Ring has been their key attacking weapon, with 28 goals in 19 league games, including an amazing seven-goal personal haul in July. But Davis was quick to praise their defence, having conceded just two goals in their past 11 games.

"Like in any sport, you build a team around your defence," he said.

"That's what we did well in the semi against Uni to stop them getting chances.

"But Brittany has had a great year, she reads the play really well and has a lot of pace."
