The Occupy movement is coming to Wollongong, with controversial plans to launch the action on one of Australia's most solemn days of remembrance.Mystery organisers have used two Facebook pages titled Occupy Wollongong to organise and announce a gathering at Crown St Mall amphitheatre on Friday from 6pm.The day marks Remembrance Day, on which the country pauses to pay their respects to fallen Australian military personnel.Use of such a significant day to launch the protest has raised the ire of some members of the community.Wollongong RSL Sub-Branch president Peter Poulton believed the protest date was in poor taste."It's not appropriate on Remembrance Day of all days," he said."Any other day would have been better."Occupy Wollongong's Facebook page said the rally would seek to "create an open, democratic space for people to participate in discussion about creating a classless society based on principles of peace, equality, freedom and justice."A request for comment from event organisers was not answered.
