Fire crews were called to the Beatus Street home around 10am on Monday morning.
"One person has been evacuated and fire crews are still conducting searches," Fire and Rescue NSW Superintendent Rob Jansen said.
"Crews are having difficulty gaining entry due to a high volume of contents in the home."
It is understood firefighters are going in via the roof as they were hindered by hoarded items.
Six fire units, police and ambulance are in attendance.
There is heavy smoke in the area.
