The finals were the culmination of months of knockout competition, with Shell Cove and Lindsay Park progressing to the decider in both the boys and girls competitions.

The two Shell Cove teams will now contest the state quarter-finals, where they will both take on Riverina winners South Wagga Public School later this month. A victory there will see the team qualify for October's state semi-finals and finals.

Shell Cove coach Tony Janssens praised the children for their effort at the competition and he's looking forward to seeing how far they can progress in the competition.

"The key to success has been an exceptional generation of players at Shell Cove Public School and the commitment of the school and the parents to the soccer teams," Janssens said.

The boys final was a repeat of the 2018 regional decider, with Shell Cove determined to avenge last year's 1-0 defeat.

Shell Cove jumped out to a fast start, with the boys opening the scoring in the first 10 minutes. A second goal later in the first half saw Shell Cove head to the break up 2-0.

Lindsay Park fought hard to cut the deficit, however their lone goal came too late, with Shell Cove prevailing 2-1.

The girls final was a more lopsided affair, with Shell Cove dominating the match from the opening whistle.

Ultimately Shell Cove Public School were far too good, claiming a 4-0 victory.
