The Eagles largely controlled proceedings throughout the second 40, with NSW Country spending much of the half camped inside the Drua's end.
They were unable to make the most of the opportunities, however, with Fijian Drua's staunch defence causing a number of errors.
Leading by seven with 10 minutes to play, the Drua had numerous chances to secure their first win of the season, however they were unable to close out the match.
That left Country with one last crack to level the scores and they did through Jack Grant in the 81st minute, before Connor O'Shea stepped up to land a tricky conversion, the match ending a 24-all draw.
The thrilling finish came after an end-to-end game of football, with both teams trading tries throughout the first 50 minutes.
While the Eagles played a more controlled style of play, the Drua threw the ball around, with their third five-pointer a highlight.
The 46th minute try came in remarkable circumstances, with the Eagles making a first-phase error, before the loose ball was kicked directly to Aporosa Tabulawaki who found himself in space before beating a number of defenders in a 95 metre run to the try line.
NSW Country spent much of the ensuing 20 minutes attacking the Drua's line, however the Fijians held firm until they finally cracked when Grant crossed in the last play of the game.
