Magistrate Roger Clisdell said Daniel Foster, 25, "threw a tantrum" on January 31 this year "that would have made a two-year-old blush" following his return home from an afternoon spent drinking with a friend.

Court documents said Foster became agitated after an incident in the home and walked into his bedroom where he smashed the fan.

He then stormed out of the room and complained to his partner that he now had no fan, before turning his rage on the television, the microwave and finally the door to the fridge, all of which he damaged in a fit of rage.

Foster then turned to his partner and said "look what you made me do" before spitting on her chest.

The woman fled next door and contacted police, who arrested Foster a short time later.

He was banned from attending the house, however turned up in a taxi in June and tried to get inside the home, prompting the woman to again call police.

Officers arrived and patrolled the area but couldn't locate Foster.

However, five minutes after they left, the victim saw Foster standing at her front door. She screamed loudly, alerting a neighbour, who contacted police.

Officers arrived within a few minutes and arrested Foster in the house.

Foster pleaded guilty to charges of property damage, assault and contravening an apprehended violence order during a recent appearance in Wollongong Local Court.

Magistrate Clisdell fined Foster $3,500 and placed him on a 12-month community corrections order.
