An experienced coach, Parr will lead netball in the region into a new era, with the Blaze set to represent the Illawarra, Kiama and Shoalhaven in the Netball NSW Premier League.
Having previously coached Penrith in the competition, as well as running the Illawarra Academy of Sport's netball program, Parr said she is looking forward to helping the region's netballers play at the elite level.
"I'm really excited to be a part of the inaugural coaching team," Parr said.
"I can't help but be proud of our region's player depth and what we have been able to offer the State competition in recent years.
"Now with South Coast Blaze entering the Netball NSW Premier League franchise, the pathway for aspiring higher performance athletes is nearer to home than ever before."
Selection trials will be run in the coming weeks.
