Vidot to headline inaugural Cutters team

The Illawarra Cutters have chosen eight players with NRL experience for their NSW Cup debut against Cronulla on Saturday.The Mercury understands Dragons recruits Daniel Vidot, Chase Stanley, Denan Kemp and Will Matthews are all named in the starting lineup, while prop Ray Cashmere will captain the team.Once touted as a second row or hooker prospect for St George Illawarra, Jake Marketo is set to be tried at five-eighth, with Damien Cook at halfback.Former star under 20 fullback Henry Raiwalui will wear the No 1 jersey for the Cutters and David Gower forms the front row with Cashmere and Cameron King at hooker.It means Mitch Rein is likely to be named Steve Price’s starting hooker for the Dragons NRL opener against Wayne Bennett’s Newcastle.Nathan Fien is expected to be included in the 17, as well as Jeremy Latimore, Jack De Belin and Leeson Ah Mau.The Dragons team will be officially named later this afternoon.
