A man sustained a laceration to the torso after he was reportedly involved in an altercation with a man and a woman in Court Lane at about 4.10pm.
The man fled the scene behind Wesley Uniting Church and paramedics treated the 18-year-old at the scene for a stab wound in his side.
NSW Ambulance Inspector Norm Rees said paramedics stabilised the man before transporting him to Wollongong Hospital in a stable condition with non-life threatening injuries.
Wollongong District Police established a crime scene and are investigating the incident.
No arrests have been made at this time.
