You can without hesitation, spend over a billion dollars in your Western Sydney electorates, to save your own seats, but you cannot find a few million that you promised on the lease of Port Kembla to upgrade this venue that will create jobs.
On ABC radio this morning Gareth Ward stated that if the Lord Mayor Gordon Bradbury wants to talk "he'd better bring his cheque book with him". Sure WCC has to contribute - but grow up Gareth and support an Illawarra project for once in your life - or are you the Premier's "YES" man?

AMONG THE WORST
Yes indeed, we Australians emit (not omit) around 1.40 per cent of all global carbon emissions but it certainly is nothing to be spruiking about or being referred to as piffle.
It is also not a good idea to be drawing comparisons with China, the most populous nation on earth with around 60 times our population.
The only real yardstick is to equate the statistics our deniers choose to quote to a meaningful value which is the amount produced per capita of population.
To this end we Aussies are right up there among the very worst on the planet with an annual average of 15.4 MTPC - metric tonnes per capita. We are all but in the top 10 emitting nations. Bloody shameful for a so called smart country. When compared to our Chinese friends we find they generate much less than half at 6.6 MTPC.
Readers might imagine what global values would be if all nations were as irresponsible as we are.Global average is round 5 MTPC, all values stated being based on 2017 NASA / NOAA stats. So, to put it mildly we are absolutely pathetic in our responsibilities to ourselves and our planet. Is it any wonder there are so many whinging about their energy bills.China's emissions are partially kept in check by the fact that around 25 per cent of all electricity is generated from renewables. Australia is slowing increasing at around 15 per cent.

SUPPORT FROM COMMUNITY
Three years ago, the Illawarra Polish Museum in Wollongong was opened. Over that time we have received a very warm welcome not from the Polish community alone, but from the wider spectrum of Illawarra population.
Among visitors we had tourists from countries as remote as China, India, Ireland, Bangladesh, Italy, Poland. Unfortunately to run, maintain and develop the museum we need funds. That is why we are staging the Illawarra Polish Museum Art Exhibition and hoping to use the potential profits from the event for that purpose.
After successful inaugural art exhibition in 2017, which attracted 44 artists to exhibit nearly 200 art works, we have decided to run the event every two years. The venue for the Exhibition is the Polish Association Hall at 143 Gipps Road, Gwynneville. It will be open on Friday, October 4 at 6pm and run through Saturday and Sunday from 10am till 4pm.
