"We have just completed our new Work at Heights and Confined Space training area," manager/director Vic Walker of Achieve Training said.
"We supply training and assessing for High Risk Units including Forklift, EWP greater than 11 metres as well as Dogging and C2 Crane up to 20 tonnes.
"Plus we also supply training on Earthmoving equipment such as Front End Loaders, Excavators and Skidsteers as well as Work Safely at Heights, First Aid and General Construction (White Card).
"When I first started the business, the only training we supplied was for Forklift and First Aid but now we can offer a larger selection of courses.
"After working for BHP Transport for most of my working life, I identified that there was a demand for training of heavy equipment in circumstances where a person did not have access to the machines," Vic added.
"I began as a sole trader at Coniston in 1996 then moved to Port Kembla for three years and have been at the present location for two years."

Now with three administration staff, six trainers and assessors plus a number of contract trainers/assessors, Achieve Training pride themselves on being flexible with the times and duration of their courses.
They also do Verification Of Competencies for all equipment and courses on your site or at their site.
Achieve Training and Assessment Services has small class sizes, supply a light lunch at their courses and they do not charge any extra for extra training days if you require more time on the equipment.
They also do not charge to redo the assessment if you don't succeed the first time unlike most training organisations that do charge extra for repeats.
"I like that the Illawarra is a good mix of leisure with nearby beaches and industrial area that extends to neighbouring suburbs," Vic said.
"We cater for the unemployed to gain skills to enhance employment prospects and for the employed to gain more skills.
"We pride ourselves in our ability to communicate in a friendly manner from the front desk to the training environment plus we also have up to date equipment and facilities."
There are many extra benefits to enrolling in a course at Achieve Training, a Registered Training Organisation with the number 90659.
