Wollongong police are investigating after a video showing an altercation between two young women and a bloodied 57-year-old man went viral.
Brad Quirk can be seen looking dazed, with blood on his face, while a female yells at him "that's what I did to you c---" and repeatedly shouted "I'm gonna f--- you up", "You're going down c---, you're going down".
In the video, posted on Snapchat, a young woman, starts with: "This is pretty random but I f---ed this c--- up because he was looking at me and ... [my friend], and it's her 18th so ...." She then says "can I just take a photo of your face, look it's bleeding, that's from me".
It is understood Mr Quirk, a 57-year-old from Wombarra, is reporting the matter to police.
Wollongong police acting commander Amanda Hancock said police were aware of the video.
"We have been conducting some inquiries and a person has made a report which we will investigate," she said.
Mr Quirk's daughter Ellyce said she was devastated to see the video circulating on social media: "It's just so disgusting, I just can't believe what happened and how it's all over social media".
Ms Quirk said she was made aware of the incident by her brother who is in Bali.
"He was Face-timing me and he said did you hear what happened to dad," she said.
"This girl uploaded the video on Snapchat. It was Saturday night at Thirroul next to the train station. It clearly states in the video 'look what I did to you'.
Ms Quirk contacted one of her friends and through "friends of friends" tried to make contact with the girl in the video.
"I tried to call her to see what the hell had happened. I just wanted to know what happened but she wouldn't take my call or answer my message.
"So I uploaded the video myself to show the world. She was laughing about it. She needed to be shamed and my post went viral."
Ms Quirk's Facebook post has more than 2200 comments and has been shared more than 100 times.
She said her father was in shock and sore when she visited him on Sunday to make sure he was okay: "I have photos of his face where his glasses were smashed and cut his cheeks, his black eye and sore ribs."
The female in the video posted on social media on Monday saying she "shouldn't be proud at all".
"I don't condone violence. I'm not that person at all, it was a stupid mistake and I regret and know it was wrong," she said.
"I was utterly pissed and everyone has now got a different perspective of what has happened and I'm not that person at all. I'm really sorry but I shouldn't get this much harassment [on social media]."
