"The last time was awesome, although I think we had to play at the same time as Dune Rats, which would've affected our crowd," he laughed.
"It's an amazing festival, and remarkable what that team have been able to do, and create a big scene in that part of the world."
The Adelaide rockers will return to Wollongong for the 2019 festival, ahead of the October 18 release of Doomsday Ballet, their third album.
In the era of streaming platforms, many artists are placing more emphasis on drip-feeding singles and/or EPs than full-length albums.
Although proud of their new album, Marwe said this was a model they would look at utilising in the future.
"This time around we spent over a year or so demoing and curating our own direction.
"I think from now on, now that we've given ourselves some sort of springboard of a back catalogue of demos that haven't been used, we can just keep recording and pumping it out like other bands do."
The Yours & Owls Festival will take place at Wollongong's Stuart Park on October 5 and October 6.
Joining Bad//Dreems on the Wollongong bill will be Courtney Barnett, Golden Features, Hotdub Time Machine, Sneaky Sound System, Thundamentals, Vera Blue, Amy Shark and more.
Meanwhile, the All Ages music crowd will also be catered for.
Yours & Owls are throwing an All Ages party on Saturday, October 5 at UOW Uni Hall, kicking off at 12pm.
A licensed All Ages event, the bill includes Angie McMahon, Baker Boy, Eves Karydas, Kwame and Skegss.
Brisbane electro-pop singer/songwriter Karydas released her debut album, Summerskin, in 2018.
The 25-year-old previously performed in Wollongong under a different guise.
"Maybe my very first tour I went on when I was 18, I think I passed through Wollongong and played at a little venue there," she said.
"But that wasn't even as Eves Karydas - I've gone through a few different names - so I can't say I've ever performed there as this name and with what I'm doing now. But I'm excited."
She said she always attempted "to do my best to really enjoy being on-stage".
"I feel like I watch a lot of artists who just looked bored," she said.
"Not that I'm trying to not look bored; I just have fun on-stage.
"And I always want people to walk away saying, 'that was a fun show and had a lot of heart in it'."
Further festival weekend details
Organisers estimate that the Yours & Owls Festival will attract about 20,000 punters across the weekend.
According to organisers, parking around the festival site is limited to street parking and spots are tight.
Therefore, they're encouraging festival-goers to use public transport or if driving, carpool and use parking bays throughout Wollongong City.
The Free Gong Shuttle and the festival shuttle bus will be on hand to get you between North Wollongong Station, the festival campground and Stuart Park.
Yours and Owls will be putting on a free shuttle bus service.
It will be on a continuous route from the festival site to Wollongong CBD (cnr of Corrimal and Market streets), North Wollongong Train Station, the festival camp site (Dalton Park) and the bus stop on Squires Way out the front of the Innovation Campus every 15-20 minutes between 11.30am and 11.30pm Saturday, and 11.30am-10.30pm Sunday.
Promoter Ben Tillman said the festival was "very close" to being sold out.
"I think the festival has solidified itself as a bit of a Wollongong mainstay," he said.
"We've got a loyal following now, which is great, and the community's all behind it."
