A man has been charged after admitting to drinking wine after he'd rolled his vehicle at Berkeley on Sunday night.
The single vehicle incident occurred at 11.30pm.
According to Lake Illawarra police, a 34-year-old male was driving a white Isuzu southbound on the motorway at Berkeley.
Police say the vehicle collided with a safety barrier and pilon, and the vehicle rolled and landed on its roof.
The driver was not injured.
Emergency services were called to the scene.
Police believe that fatigue may have been a factor, and the driver may have fallen asleep while driving.
The driver admitted to drinking a quantity of wine after the collision, before anyone else arrived on-scene.
He was charged with willfully alter concentration of alcohol.
His license has been suspended, although his court date is to be confirmed.
Following the incident, police had concerns for the driver's well-being, and transported him to hospital for a mental health assessment.
