The Wollongong golfer is in fourth place on -7 after completing his second round at the Kalgoorlie Golf Club on Friday. Zunic is two strokes behind leader Darren Beck, who shot a round of -5 on Saturday, and one stroke behind Justin Warren and Jarryd Felton.
Zunic shot a par round of 72 to complement his blistering opening round of -7 on Thursday. He was co-leader alongside Felton after day one.
Zunic's day one highlights included a birdie on the 18th hole.
The 27-year-old told the Golf NSW website conditions were tough on Thursday, but he was pleased with his form.
The temperature soared to as high as 38 degrees on day one.
"It's super hot out there. [But] I hit the ball quite well and I putted really well too," Zunic said.
"You can always make birdies when you're holing the putts so it was nice to roll a few in today and start the week off well."
Several golfers are yet to complete their day two round. The WA PGA Championship continues on Saturday and finishes this Sunday.
