It's something partner, and fellow Dragons star, Zac Lomax is well aware of having watched her endure a horror run with injury that left her sidelined for the best part of two seasons.
The couple will both represent Australia, Lomax with Junior Kangaroos, at WIN Stadium on Saturday - the same venue at which Sergis burst on the scene with a hat-trick on debut for NSW in 2017.
Having also watched her scoop every major individual prize on offer in women's footy this season, Lomax said he couldn't be prouder.
"She's been having an unreal season, she won the Dally M which was a highlight for the season.
"I'm super proud of her to see how far she's come since last year," Lomax said.
"She's had so many injuries last year and missed out on playing for Australia which was hard.
"She got to finally get that Australian jersey over the weekend at the 9s and to see how far she's come and what she did go through has been great.
"There were a fair few tears shed through the season last year but to see all the success she's had this year is unreal. I'm super proud of her mate and can't wait to watch her on Friday."
Sergis will be one of six debutants in Brad Donald's side for the clash with the Kiwi Ferns in Wollongong, with Botille Vette-Welsh, Millie Boyle, Kirra Dibb, Chelsea Lenarduzzi and Port Kembla's Shakiah Tungai all earning maiden Test call-ups.
