The post said he was safe and well.
Earlier: Illawarra residents have been asked to be on the lookout for a 12-year-old boy who has been missing from Bellambi since Thursday.
Deacon Jenkins was last seen about 8am when he left home to walk to school.
He did not return home that afternoon and enquiries with the school revealed he had not attended school on that day, and hasn't since.
Any attempts to contact Deacon by mobile phone have been unsuccessful.
He is described as 145 centimetres tall, thin build, Caucasian with fair complexion and red hair.
Wollongong Police District and Deacon's family are concerned for his safety.
Police believe Deacon may be in the Penrith area but this has not been confirmed.
If you see Deacon or know where he is, contact Wollongong police on 4226 7899 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
