A virtual unknown when the Dragons signed her prior to last year's NRLW season, Tungai has progressed through the representative ranks in the past 12 moths.
The Port Kembla product made her State of Origin debut for the Blues in June, before she represented her country for the first time in last weekend's Rugby League World Cup of Nines.
Now, just days away from making her Test debut at WIN Stadium, Tungai said it's been a whirlwind experience.
"I took up rugby league full time last year and I set myself a goal of two years," Tungai said. "To be here, a year later, playing in the green and gold, it's amazing. I'm pretty happy and excited and really grateful for the opportunity.
"It means the absolute world to play for Australia in my home town in my first 13s match. I'm really excited and I can't wait."
