And they want people to dress up in Halloween costumes and drop by on Saturday, October 26 for a great night of family fun.
Halloween itself falls on October 31 but the ILRM crew will operate the ghost train on Saturday from 4-9pm at the railway's premises in Albion Park Rail.
The diesel locomotive Seymour, that worked at the CSR Victoria Mill at Ingham in North Queensland, will be the 'Green Goblin' on the night as it hauls the ghost train throughout the night.
This year Strathalbyn will also haul the 'Mini Monster Express' which is sure to excite the young children.
Train fees apply and dressing up in Halloween attire is a must to have that "scary great time".
There will be barbecue food, souvenirs and drinks available to buy on the night.
Society honourary treasurer and life member Brad Johns said the Halloween event at the Illawarra Light Railway Museum has been a huge success for many years.
"The Eve of Halloween event just gets better and better every year. Our volunteers love running the event which is extremely popular with young and old alike," Mr Johns said.
