Kiwi Ferns centre Jules Newman appears to have lit he fuse for an explosive women's Test on Friday night after labeling the Jillaroos "cocky" in the aftermath to last week's World 9s final.

The Kiwi Ferns bounced back from an earlier loss to claim the silverware, with Newman delivering the barb labeled "surprising" by Jillaroos skipper Ali Brigginshaw.
Talk of the jibe dominated Wednesday's coach and captain's call, with Kiwi Ferns coach Justin Morgan downplaying the furore.
"I wasn't there for the interview so I don't know what context the comments were made in but I know my players are respectful, they are humble and have a great deal of time for all the Jillaroos," Morgan said.
"If I'm a betting man, I'd say it was taken a little bit out of context and maybe blown up a little bit more than what it should've been.
"If it was taken in terms of having a go it wasn't meant that way. We all know players get interviewed, sometimes say things in the heat of the moment.
"I know Jules thought afterwards that was the last kind of message she wanted to deliver. This group that wear the black and white jersey have nothing but respect and time for the Jillaroos."
Jillaroos counterpart Brad Donald was equally keen to dismiss the jibe, saying his side has moved on from the loss in the Nines final, and whatever was said in the aftermath.
"We've got a very motivated team and not for any of the reasons we've been talking about for the last 14 minutes," Donald said.
"For one, it's very refreshing. These girls have worked together really hard over the years, be in for their clubs or against each other so that we want to watch it.
"If we've spoken about it [at the presser] for 14 minutes, that's about 13 minutes longer than we actually spoke about it as a team."
