Redevelopment of Hangtime begins on Monday for a new parent-friendly indoor skate park set to open in Wollongong in December.
3SIXTY will be a 750sqm skate park in the 1200sqm facility at Spring Hill
The last chance to ever jump at the trampoline will be between 10am and 6pm on Sunday when the curtain closes on Hangtime for the last time after five years of operation.
A development application has been lodged with Wollongong City Council to make alterations to the premises near Coniston.
When they heard about this weekend being the last Renee and Matt Whiteside booked a private party at Hangtime on Saturday afternoon for their two daughters.
Their birthdays are not for a couple of weeks but Caitlyn. 7, and Madison, 4, have been going to the trampoline park every month for years.
They love it so much the Whiteside's decided to bring their celebration forward a fortnight to give them one last opportunity to jump.
"They have come at least a couple of times if not more a month since the place has been open," she said.
"A lot of their friends are regulars as well.
"I love it here because my children are getting so much exercise so its supports their health while they are having a good time.
"And I can relax upstairs and have a cup of coffee or a tea. We are going to miss it when it".
The 3SIXTY Skate Park is a collaboration between business coach/entrepreneur Adrian D'Amico and FunScape managing director Brett Baker.and will feature a mix of ramp and street elements, as well as a café, party area, skate shop and seating.
The skate part is something Mr D'Amico has wanted to do in Wollongong for years and Mr Baker will run the centre.
He has become known as Wollongong's funpreneur for his many indoor adventure bas business endeavours that include the Hangdog Climbing Gym, Hangtime Trampoline Park, Breakout Bar and Escape Rooms, Revolution Laser Arena and Revolution Archery Tag.
Mr Baker said everyone was welcome on the last day of Hangtime which has a very special place in his heart because it was the first indoor adventure business he got into and sprung him into a new career.
"This has been a fantastic business. It is what got me into opening the other centres," he said.
"This was the third park in Australia and we have hosted over 5000 parties.
"The great thing about trampolining is it is really high energy but low impact. It is fantastic exercise".
