From November 5, motorists will be driving on a new section of the East West Link - between Croome Road and Woollybutt Drive - built as part of the bypass project.
"The opening of this section of newly built road is a significant milestone for the Albion Park Rail bypass as it marks the first permanent traffic switch for the project to date," Kiama MP Gareth Ward said.

The stretch of road will be just under a kilometre long and will remain open permanently.
The traffic switch will enable workers to access the existing road and continue work on the bypass, with the remainder of the new East West Link expected to be open to traffic in early 2020.
Motorists travelling east from Croome Road and Ashburton Drive will access the new road using the new roundabout opposite the Croom Regional Sporting Complex.
Those travelling west along the existing East West Link will be diverted onto the new section of road at the Woollybutt Drive intersection - which will be temporarily modified.
The $630 million Albion Park Rail bypass is expected to be open for traffic some time in 2022.
