The two men have just signed off on the final design plans as construction begins on 3SIXTY Skate Park at Unit 3/2 Drummond Street.
Demolition started on Hangtime Trampoline Park on Monday and the goal is to have the new indoor skate park open by Christmas.
The concept is something Mr D'Amico has wanted to bring to Wollongong for years. And Mr Baker said he has taken everything he learned at Hangtime and used in the design of 3SIXTY which will have great facilities not just for skaters but adults who bring their children. He said it will offer amenities just not available at outdoor skate parks including cafe and plenty of seating. So adults will have not trouble filling the time and being able to do so in comfort.
Mr D'Amico said he was excited at the overwhelming support received from the local BMX, skateboard and scooter communities.
"We've been contacted by photographers, those looking for employment, and even Intagram Influencers, all wanting to be involved in bringing the park to fruition," he said.
After community feedback and industry consultation 3SIXTY Indoor Skatepark has been designed to provide for all skill levels.
"Included in the park's portfolio are double 4ft half pipe, street and stair sections, plenty of rails, a mixture of ramps ranging between 3ft and 9ft tall, a resi-ramp and airbag," Mr D'Amico said.
"Every skater's dream playground. It is jam-packed full of features, with a good balance of both street and transition features, laid out perfectly for easy flow.
"An integral part of the design is the acknowledgment of the unique requirements of skaters, scooter and BMX riders. And 3SIXTY will host different sessions to accommodate each group.
"There will very much be a community focus to all of our activities."
3SIXTY will run competitions, demonstrations, in-school and after-school activities, private and group coaching sessions, school holiday programmes, community events, corporate and team building, and, of course, birthday parties.
Mr Baker said the park will be open to everyone from beginners to pros.
It is also designed to be a great venue choice for parents looking for a healthy, safe and fun activity for their children's parties.
