A range of trains, rocking horses, boats and helicopter will be available to buy between now and Christmas, pitched as an alternative to mass produced plastic items that can crowd Santa sacks and Christmas stockings.
Men's shed president Peter Jacobson said there would be a range of wooden toys, clocks, barometers and other items available, and was hoping Shellharbour residents might be keen to support them.
"The wooden clocks and things are a bit of a novelty idea," he said.
"The wooden toys are nice for little children. We've also got dolls cradles, and some vintage cars made by very talented guys in our shed."
The men's shed will be open every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday and is located in the old council chambers on Addison Street.
Shellharbour Men's Shed, which is designed to let retired men socialise and use their skills, focuses almost exclusivity on carpentry and woodworking activities, due to the heritage obligations and space limitations within their premises.
Members can work on personal and community projects, and participate in income generating activities.
