Edmonds and Gittoes clinched their section with a perfect three wins and won the title with a hard-fought 18-12 triumph over Merrylands' Jeremy Roach and Mick Clarke.
More than 100 teams nominated for the 40-59s tournament. Following regional playoffs across NSW, Club Maitland City hosted 32 teams split into eight sections for the State Finals.
Oak Flats' Paul Rooke and Steve Sprod went close to winning Section 8; edged out on countback by Daniel Hooker and Paul Cousins (Club Maitland City). Both teams finished with two wins and one loss and the same differential (+15).
Collies-Orbs' Greg Wray and Andrew Spriggs also won two games, but a three-shot loss to Wayne Beard-Dave Neilsen (Bateau Bay) in round two effectively decided the section.
Figgy Bowlo's Mitch Walters and Peter Ford started well, winning their first two games but also missed out on a quarter-final spot with the section-deciding 18-15 round three loss to Simon Byrnes and Martin Byrnes (Mudgee).
