Recently, a game fish recapture form was submitted by a local fisher from a remote village outside of General Santos City, Philippines.
Nelson B Lupa had just returned from a trip where he captured a tagged blue marlin estimated at 100kg.
A quick search of the database found that the estimated 95 kilo blue was tagged east of 'The Carpark' offshore of Port Stephens, on November 24, 2018 by Ben Knott.
The fish spent 182 days at liberty and was caught over 2373 nautical miles from its original release location to be the second furthest distance travelled by a recaptured blue marlin since the program began in 1973.
