A young Dapto mother will spend at least the next year in jail after she was sentenced for speeding nearly 20km/h over the limit when she stuck and killed an elderly grandmother at Oak Flats in 2017.

Amelia Fennell, 25, learnt she will be eligible for parole on November 7 after spending her first three nights behind bars.
Judge Andrew Haesler sentenced Fennell to three years in jail and disqualified her from driving for three years in Wollongong District Court on Monday morning.
Fennell's bail was revoked on Friday and she was taken into custody to begin her sentence over the weekend.
In August, a jury took two hours to find Fennell guilty of dangerously and neglectfully driving her car which fatally struck 78-year-old pedestrian Barbara Jones.
The court heard Fennell had quit her job moments before getting into her red Holden Commodore.
She drove along Central Avenue in Oak Flats when she hit Ms Jones who had just stepped off a pedestrian ramp to cross the road.
Ms Jones was flown to St George Hospital but tragically succumbed to her injuries two days later.
The Crown argued Fennell was speeding through a roundabout at 58km/h in a 40km/h zone when she hit Ms Jones.
The defence claimed Ms Fennell was distracted by an illegally parked Armaguard truck.
Judge Haesler said he would recommend Fennell, who has a seven-year-old and four-month old, for the Mothers and Children's Program facility at Jacaranda House, where mothers in custody can have their baby with them.
The Judge said Fennell had shown remorse for her actions but in handing down his sentence he had to take into account the victim and her family.
