Transport for NSW have released a video showing the inside of the New Intercity Fleet carriages.
The trains have been a source of concern for South Coast commuters, largely due to the seating.
The video shows the two-by-two seating configuration, which Transport for NSW has said was in response to commuters wanting more space - and the aisles do seem wider.
The configuration means seating in the new trains is reduced; each carriage will have around 28 fewer seats than the trains now on the line.
However it also appears there are rows of three seats at either end of the carriages.
The video also shows a number of seats facing backwards, another source of frustration for commuters.
Luggage space has been provided, which will be handy for people catching the train to the airport.
Another change sees bike racks installed in the vestibule of some carriages - though that does come at the cost of seating.
Digital display screens showing the time to each station will be mounted in the carriages, replacing the old scrolling information screens.
Similar screens will be visible to people standing on the platform.
Charging points for mobile phones are included in the armrests and it appears to be one per commuter, though they would have to share the accompanying power outlet.
Tray tables in the back of seats are also featured.
