The Hawks missed the impact and experience of a player like Brooks on Sunday, with Flinn confirming deals have fallen through at the last minute with two separate players.

With the Hawks showing improvement in recent weeks, Flinn said he will be careful not to sign a player who could disrupt team chemistry.

"We've been down the path with two candidates and they've fallen through at the 11^th hour," Flinn said. "So it's very frustrating from that standpoint.

"The other thing I don't want to do is go out and say 'you'll do' and put someone into a group that's really building chemistry.

"Whoever comes has got to have the right skill set and the right attitude as well.

"I've got a three-year contract and we're building here, so this process that we're going through is very important for building for the future."
