Goodman's professional record moves to 6-0 after he defeated Sunardi Gamboa in emphatic style on Saturday night at Sydney's Hordern Pavilion.

The 21-year-old delivered a third round KO with a one-two right hook and jab combination that stunned his Indonesian opponent.

"I was stoked to win and I'm just really happy to finish the year on a high," Goodman said.

"I was pretty dominant throughout the whole fight. I thought I controlled everything from the opening bell. He was a tough opponent, he had a bag of tricks, but I figured him out pretty early and got the job done. I think I broke him down mentally, he was more [mentally] done than anything."

The result caps a strong year for Goodman, highlighted by a third round TKO win over Claudevan Sese in his televised debut in July.

Goodman, who trains on the Central Coast under Joel Keegan, believes the key to his success is maintaining a strong work ethic.

"I just reckon it's consistency. I've been doing it from a young age, I've not had big breaks and stayed active," he said.

"The more you do something, the better you get at it. I was not a natural talent when I started boxing... but I've just stuck with it and it now shows.

"I've now got to sit down with my team and discuss what's next: we've got a few things in the pipeline. For the time being, I'll keep in the gym, keep training and working on my skills set."
