The South Korea-made trains will arrive on a ship at Port Kembla.
From they will be towed by locomotive to the Eveleigh Maintenance Centre in Sydney to start a testing program, both in the centre and on the rail network.
The trains will be transferred overnight to ensure there is no impact on regular South Coast services.

On-track testing will also largely take place at night outside timetabled services, though if commuter trains are affected, replacement buses will be used.
A Transport for NSW spokeswoman could not confirm whether the trains would still be introduced on the South Coast line in 2021 as previously stated.
"A timeline for them to enter service will be confirmed once they have progressed through the early stages of final testing and verification on our network to ensure they are safe and compliant with all relevant standards and requirements," the spokeswoman said.
