Local burger outlet Sneaky Burger has partnered with the Hawks and Southern Youth Family Services to create a dining experience with heart ahead of the NBL clash with the Cairns Taipans.
The crew from Sneaky Burger will take over the kitchen of the Furphy Bar at WIN Stadium and work with young adults from SYFS who are keen to get experience in the hospitality industry. All of the proceeds will be donated to SYFS.
"We are extremely grateful for the support of Shane and his team at Sneaky Burger for affording our young people this opportunity to gain valuable work experience and life skills which will assist them in improving their quality of life moving forward," SYFS partnership and activities liaison Jason Saladino said.
"We would love to see all Hawks fans and the wider public come out for a burger in support of this wonderful initiative."
The manager of Sneaky Burger Shane Jaque said it was hoped the relationship would build on the work of the SYFS.
"SYFS have a training facility that assist the youths and young adults of the Illawarra in gaining kitchen and hospitality experience, we thought we could further this by allowing students to design, cost and produce their creations, giving them a firsthand look into the hospitality industry, we can't wait to show you everyone the great creations these young people have made," he said.
On Thursday night the Illawarra Hawks helped serve at the Lighthouse Community Kitchen.
