Player of the match Amelia Kerr starred with bat and ball on Friday night to finish with 2-16 from four overs and 21 from 16 deliveries with the bat. Grace Harris top scored for the Heat with 43 from 27 balls including a couple of big sixes.

Responding to the Heat's 9-157, the Hurricanes providfed some early headaches with Erin Fazackerley (35 off 21) and Fran Wilson (32 from 36) combining for an opening partnership of 52 runs.

However, Fazackerley's dismissal led to a Hobart collapse of 5-52. They had made a decent fist of the run chase until that cluster of wickets as the Heat made it seven wins in a row.

For the Heat, Delissa Kimmince was expensive despite taking two wickets to finish with 2-30 from her four overs and Sammy-Jo Johnson and Georgia Prestwidge took a wicket each.

Earlier, The Heat were in trouble at 4-58 but a couple of decent partnerships and some big hitting from Harris and Kerr steadied the table-toppers.

Belinda Vakarewa continued her good recent form for the Hurricanes and was the pick of the bowlers with 3-17 from four overs. Maisy Gibson and Tayla Vlaeminck took two wickets apiece but came in for some stick from the Heat batters.

Gibson ended with 2-33 and Vlaeminck took 2-34.
