Exhibition
Six Wollongong artists will exhibit works at Project Contemporary Artspace in December on an issue close to many people's hearts, our warming environment.
Other Nature explores the relationship between people and their environments, both emotional and local.
Inspired by the Illawarra, the artists' works delve into our political climate, interpersonal relationships and experiences of people and their connections with the natural world, both physical and spiritual.
"As we are constantly surrounded by our environment, these works examine the emotional and human possibilities of our intimate connection with nature," artist Greer Harris said.
"The works also examine our impact on this planet and the evolving climate change."
Artists Erin Mison, Verity Cole, Harris, Renae MacAlpine, Alison Brown and Melissa Russell will show works in a variety of media-oil, acrylic, sculpture, textiles, pencils and watercolours on wood, paper, and fabric.
The exhibition is on at the Project Contemporary Artspace, 255 Keira Street, Wollongong.
The opening night is on Thursday, December 5 at 6pm.
It runs from December 4 to December 8. Gallery hours are 11am to 5pm daily.
