The Kerryn McCann Athletics Centre played host to a range of impressive performances, with the top athletes progressing to February's Region Championships, which will be held at Myimbarr Park in Flinders.
That competition will see the Illawarra's athletes take on the South Coast and Riverina's top youngsters.
This week's event did, however, mark the end of competitive journey for the under seven athletes, with medals awarded to place-getters in that age group.
With competition fierce both on the track and in the field events, a number of zone records were broken.
Those included the under 13 girls discus, with Wollongong City's Chelsy Wayne breaking a record set by her sister Jamaya just one year ago. Chelsy recorded a throw of 34.84 metres to claim the new mark.
The Mid South Coast Zone will be held at Albion Park next weekend.
