The students were on song from the outset, draining a number of shots. The Hawks made their best effort to reel in their opponents, but it was not to be, the students celebrating an upset victory.
The match came as part of a series of school visits the Hawks are making throughout the summer, with the players visiting St Mary Star of the Sea on Tuesday.
Illawarra's Todd Blanchfield said he's been impressed by the youngsters.
"It's cool," Blanchfield said. "They get some coaching and they're getting better as a team. It's obvious they're quite skilled."
