As part of IDPwD on Tuesday, The Disability Trust's Wollongong head office hosted a Sensory Walk.
The walk featured a range of sensory-based stations tailored to the needs of individuals across all abilities.
"The Sensory Walk is aimed towards promoting the inclusiveness of community and integration of all," chief executive officer of The Disability Trust, Margaret Bowen said.
This year, The Disability Trust will focus on the theme 'Remove the Barrier', in support of Australian Paralympic gold medallist and disability advocate, Dylan Alcott.
The Dylan Alcott Foundation's mission is to change the perception and eliminate the stigma about disability in mainstream employment.
"Through our employment service Workskills we are calling on support from local businesses to provide more employment placement opportunities for people with disabilities," Ms Bowen said.
