Owner Stan Crinis said he'd had his eye on Kiama for some time, joking that "it had only taken 15 years to find another seaside location".
"We had looked at a few other sites... We wanted to keep our brand in that seaside location," he said.
"We've been waiting for the right location to open a second Diggies and when we saw this iconic seaside spot, we knew it would be perfect."
Diggies Kiama will be an all-day brunch eatery and will open to the public on Thursday, December 19.
It will feature a seasonal menu, fully licensed dine-in as well as takeaway options.
Located adjacent to the Kiama Visitor Centre in Blowhole Point Headland, the 110-seater indoor and outdoor venue is styled by Rebecca Riles of Berry-based Roots and Wings Design.
We have completely refurbished the venue so that it has a similar look and feel to Diggies Wollongong, and we've included some of our North Beach regulars' favourite dishes on the new menu.
After 10 years working as a creative and specialising in branding for Sydney design agencies Moon and Saatchi Design, Mr Crinis returned to the Illawarra region in 2004 to open Diggies' first venue in Wollongong.
Diggies Kiama is his fourth hospitality venue.
Mr Crinis said the Kiama business will initially employ 30 people, but this number will increase once the business starts hosting dinners and extending trading hours.
"We have completely refurbished the venue so that it has a similar look and feel to Diggies Wollongong, and we've included some of our North Beach regulars' favourite dishes on the new menu," he said.
Gourmet flathead fish 'n' chips, local prawn roll with red onion and celery on a soft roll, and buttermilk pancakes feature alongside a range of healthy eats like the green goodness bowl and pan-fried barramundi.
There will also be vegan, paleo, gluten-free and dairy-free options.
Kiama is renowned for its multitude of cafes. Mr Crinis said they aimed to offer points of difference to others in the town, including a prime location.
"What we've had success with in Wollongong is really pushing as much local produce as we can," he said.
"Keeping that fresh, simple, classic (style)... And doing those things really well.
"So for Kiama, we've really pushed to use as many South Coast suppliers and producers as possible.
"(This includes) The Pines Kiama dairy, Kangaroo Valley Eggs, potatoes from Robertson."
Diggies Kiama is located at 1 Blowhole Point Road, Kiama.
It will be open from 7am to 5pm, Monday to Sunday.
"We will have extended hours through this holiday period as well," Mr Crinis told the Mercury.
