Happy hour in the city often lasts longer than 60 minutes and is held every day of the week, depending on where you go.
From restaurants to small bars, here's our list of 12 happy hours to try around town.
1. The Little Prince
When: Tuesday to Saturday from 4pm to 7pm.
What it includes: House spirits and house wines for $6, and house beers for $6 a schooner and $9 a pint. There's also $10 cocktails, including espresso martinis, Aperol spritz, Long Island iced teas and amaretto sours.
Small bites: Happy hour margarita pizzas for $5.
2. Juniper Bar
When: Friday and Saturday from 5pm to 7pm.
What it includes: Beers and wine for $6 a glass, and gin cocktails for $10. Every Thursday, patrons can get $6 gins all night.
Small bites: Drinks plates are available (cheese, olives, pickles, dips and crispbreads), or order a woodfired pizza from LUPA and sushi from AKARI.
3. Red Square
When: Espresso Martini Fridays from 5pm to 7pm.
What it includes: Nine different flavored martinis, including Nutella, mint slice and honeycomb, all infused with vodkas, for $10 a glass.
Small bites: Mini pork banh mi and mini burgers with cheese and caramelised onion/tomato relish.
4. Night Parrot Bar & Kitchen
When: Thursday to Saturday from 4pm to 6pm, and Sunday from 2pm to 4pm.
What it includes: Wines for $10 a glass, $6 Five Barrels Beer and $10 espresso martinis.
Small bites: Handmade dumplings for $10.
5. The Swallowed Anchor
When: Thursday and Friday from 5pm to 6pm.
What it includes: Craft beers (Stone & Wood, Hawke's Brewing Co, Lord Nelson and Philter), cab merlot, sem sauv and sparkling from Mortar & Pestle for $5 a glass.
Small bites: Tapas available from 5pm.
6. Moominn
When: Monday to Saturday from 4pm to 6pm.
What it includes: Czech beer on tap for $9 a pint, Negronis for $10 and sangria for $4.
Small bites: Cheeseburger spring rolls, chicken spring rolls and halloumi spring rolls for $10.
7. Uncle Bok's
When: Tuesday to Saturday from 5pm to 6pm.
What it includes: Cocktails including espresso martinis, Negronis, cosmopolitans and amaretto sours for $12 a glass, as well as wine and schooners of international beer for $6.
Small bites: Feta and spinach dip and chicken wings for $5; brie rolls, brie and cranberry, and goats cheese and caramelized onion garlic bread for $10.
8. His Boy Elroy
When: Friday and Saturday from 9pm to 10pm.
What it includes: $10 cocktails like Aperol spritz, margarita, Hibiscus sour, espresso martini and Miami splice.
Small bites: Jalapeno poppers, mac and cheese balls, shoestring fries and sweet potato fries.
9. Howlin' Wolf Bar
When: Monday to Sunday from 4pm to 7pm.
What it includes: Tap beer for $5, house wines for $8, rotating cocktails for $10, whiskey variety for $10 and premium whiskeys for $15.
Small bites: No food, though whiskey is almost bread anyway, the owners say.
10. Steamers Bar and Grill
When: Friday from 5pm to 7pm.
What it includes: Local draught beer and wines for $5 a glass, and selected cocktails for $10 a glass.
Small bites: Cob loaf, caramelised garlic bread and woodfired chilli salted calamari.
11. Breakout Bar and Escape
When: Board Game Wednesday.
What it includes: Guests can bring their own board game or borrow one from the Escape library, while enjoying $6 house beer, wine and spirits throughout the night.
Small bites: $6 chips or order pizza and sides from Kneading Ruby.
12. Bavarian Wollongong
When: Monday to Sunday from 4pm to 6pm
What it includes: $5 wines, spirits and beer.
Small bites: Haus made pretzel, tempura pickles and spicy squid.
13. Humber
When: Tuesday to Friday from 4pm to 6pm.
What it includes: $5 spirits, wines and beers. And on Thursday, $20 cocktail jugs are available.
Small bites: Get half-priced burgers on Tuesday and $1 dumplings on Wednesday.
