Corrigans Cove Resort owner operator Andrew Johns said the town is eerily quiet for this time of year.

"Don't cancel your summer plans! The sun is shining, the sky is blue and we are still open," Mr Johns posted on Facebook.

He said tourists are crucial for Batemans Bay's economic survival.

"In times of need, now obviously, we really just need them to visit and help us move forward."

"The days are beautiful and back to a normal summer."

He said without the support, it would take a long time for the region to get back on its feet.

Eurobodalla Mayor Liz Innes urged visitors not to cancel their holiday plans.

"We're still here, the coast is absolutely magnificent," Cr Innes said.

"Our fabulous beaches, our wonderful seafood, our incredible restaurants and cafes... We consider the Eurobodalla as Canberra's coast, and we really need you right now, we need you more than ever."

She urged those with holiday homes on the coast to take the opportunity to prepare their houses for fire, and get to know their neighbours.

"There may well come a time when you're not here and not able to get here, and it will probably be the neighbours that help save your home," she said.
