The long-running Globe Lane business has been purchased by the Good Times Only Group, whose portfolio already includes Dagwood, Howlin' Wolf and Births and Deaths in Wollongong.
Ben Abraham, Scott Mileto, Luke Symons and their business partner Jared Huk run the Good Times Only Group.
Mr Abraham said they had been looking at The Little Prince "on and off" for the past couple of years.
"We've always had our eye on it," he said.
"It's Wollongong's first small bar, and it's awesome to have it in the stable."
Mr Abraham said the venue name wouldn't be changing, as it's "got a great reputation, and we're keen to just see it lift up and up".
"We love the name, it's a strong brand, everyone's always been right behind it.
"The food menu has changed already. It's more like modern Australian food... Classics done right. The drinks menu will also flip a little bit.
"But in terms of structure, there's not too much to change, we've still got that beautiful deck. We're just going to give it a little clean-up, nothing too crazy.
"We're just going to focus on good drinks and old school hospitality."
The venue is licensed for 200 people.
The business was listed for sale for $195,000, although the final sale price has not been disclosed.
The Little Prince was established by the Oh Pierre company in 2011.
The owners completed a major renovation in 2015 where they built out the bar, improved the deck and replaced furniture.
According to the marketing material, the bar's current lease expires in May 2025, and attracts sales of $800,000 per annum.
The bar was listed for sale mid-year.
Selling agent, Christina Comelli from Comelli Commercial Business & Property Sales said the business had attracted strong interest early on, including prospective buyers from both Sydney and Wollongong.
She said there was regularly strong interest from Sydney buyers wanting to purchase bars and restaurants in Wollongong when they became available.
"There's a lot of people buying businesses in Wollongong, or are looking to buy here, that don't live in the area," she said.
