Two Illawarra strike teams were deployed on 12-hour shifts to help crews fight the Green Wattle Creek fires and protect properties.
The teams had about 22 and 26 firefighters, each with a strike team leader.
But they did not leave before having a hot meal cooked and supplied by Omar Nemer, owner of Samara's Restaurant.
With lamb and chicken shawarma wraps on the menu, Mr Nemer also came with a cheque for $2500 raised by members of the Berkeley Mosque after they prayed for rain on Sunday.
"We served more than 100 meals," he said. "The volunteers were ecstatic and loved it.
"What I did was so insignificant to what they have done for the community.
"I"m glad they had full bellies before they started their 12 hour shift.
"Some even came back for seconds."
Mr Nemer could not imagine dealing with the heat firefighters faced, which could reach 60 degrees on the front line.
"I'm in my food truck sweating at 45 degrees," he said. "Talking to the volunteers gave me a new perspective and respect for what they do.
"If I can donate my time, which is a small gesture, that is but a drop in the ocean compared to what the volunteers do.
"It was emotional to see them so happy and thankful.
"The Muslim community always want to support people who are struggling whether that is in drought, fires, or financial hardships. We try to assist, raise money and feed people."
