The Illawarra Music Foundry is hosting a family-friendly fundraising concert, 'Playing for the Firies'.
Organisers have booked 23 local acts, who will be donating their time and performing for free on Saturday, January 4. The event runs from 11am to 1am, with all proceeds going to the NSW Rural Fire Service.
One of the organisers, Mem Davis, will also be performing with the Mem Davis Collective.
She said the event had been organised at short notice, but the region's music scene had wanted to help.
"We want to be able to support the firefighters," Ms Davis said.
"We thought maybe it would be a nice way to bring the community together, and do something that's enjoyable as well as raising much-needed funds.
"It's amazing how the community has come together at such short notice - we've put this together in about a week."
The cost for the full day is $15 adults, $2 kids and firefighters get in for free.
There will also be raffles and stalls.
The event will feature a mix of bands, duos and solo artists performing a range of musical styles including folk, country, pop, rock 'n' roll and indie music.
