Even everyday Instagram users in their thousands are updating their profile with a infrared effect filter created by Wollongong graphic designer Liam Wilson.
The 20-year-old admits the "global notoriety" he has received for his ThermoFilm filter has been flattering to say the least.
"The filter has sort of gone viral. A bunch of supermodels like Bella Hadid have used it. It's also really popular with DJs," Wilson said.
"The fact the filter is so popular with celebrities so to speak has helped me greatly in terms of networking."
The success of the filter is also the primary reason Wilson was invited to attend a Facebook event at their Indian headquarters in Gurugram, just outside of Delhi.

Wilson, who works as a digital designer and developer, was happy to represent leading Wollongong-based design, branding and digital marketing company WISDOM, at the conference.
He said he was very happy and surprised to receive an invitation to such a prestigious event considering it was attended by many of the most talented and popular digital creators from around the world.
"It was an awesome experience," Wilson said.
"I got to meet some crazy, talented people. Meeting new people was a real highlight for me.
"It is a big community, but most of it is through Instagram, you don't really see them face to face.
"You just talk to people and see the work they do. It is really good to put a username to a actual face and just see the type of people they are, and they are all great people."
The conference held in early December, showcased Facebook's augmented reality program, Spark AR, built specifically for Instagram.
Facebook's SparkAR development team along with a special group of 90 people handpicked by Facebook from around the world, attended the event.
"I felt privileged to get an invite," Wilson said.
"Not only did I get to meet some really interesting people, I learnt some new tricks and had a sneak peak into unreleased versions of the software along with visions into the future of augmented reality."
Wilson now hopes to use what he has learnt at the conference, in his work at WISDOM.
