While the NSW Blues claimed an upset victory over NSW in the open's competition, the top side were determined to prevent a repeat showing in the under 21s event.
Ultimately the top NSW team proved too good, running out winners 7-2.
Local talent Helena Tobbe opened the scoring for NSW in just the first minute, fellow Illawarra product Kelsey Hughes adding a goal of her own late in the match.
Illawarra's Comfort Ferguson also scored for the Blues.
The NSW men took on Western Australia in the men's final, the hosts suffering a heartbreaking defeat.
With scores locked at 4-4, WA's Ryan Pace scored his third goal in the 39th minute to wrap up a 5-4 victory.
The boys and girls under 18 competition will commence on Monday.
