The four-year-old raced away from her rivals over the final 400 metres of the 1800m class one and maiden plate, Brenton Avdulla riding Tochi to a commanding victory.
Trained by Robert and Luke Price, the win was the second of Tochi's career and Price is confident she can claim a race in Sydney in the coming years.
"She won well, she won really well," Price said. "Hopefully she can take that forward to the city for her next start.
"She put a gap on them, which was pleasing. She's been good every run this preparation, so it was good to finally get a win.
"We'll probably give her three weeks between runs, so we're looking at Canterbury for some night racing.
"She's only won once in the country and once at provincial level, I feel she can go on with it and maybe win a city race. She's given every impression she will, only time will tell."
This campaign is Tochi's second with the Price stable, having joined the duo last June.
A win in Goulburn followed, with Tochi racing on two more occasions before she was sent for a spell.
With hopes she could develop into a talented stayer, Luke said they decided to give her an opportunity to fill out and fully freshen up before a return to racing in December.
"We just gave her a good holiday. She was quite immature when she turned up at my stable from the city, she had only had two trials. We got four runs out of her, she did a tremendous job and we wanted to look after her.
"She's a staying, promising filly, she's a stayer that's very promising. Once they can stay, it opens a lot of doors.
"She'll go out to 2200m, probably 2400m eventually. At the moment we'll stick to the 1900m, but going forward, maybe not this prep but definitely next prep she'll run at 2200m and 2400m."
While Price is optimistic Tochi will one day win a city race, he's confident another of his charges will win in Sydney much sooner.
Twirling Moss will contest a four-year-old and up benchmark 78 at Randwick on Saturday, the gelding entering the race on the back of an impressive second on the Kensington track at the same venue earlier this month.
Having watched his horse storm home on that occasion, Price is confident Twirling Moss can salute this weekend.
"Twirling Moss is flying," Price said. "He was sensational two weeks ago, he will be hard to beat when he goes around on Saturday.
"He'll be racing similar horses to what he raced a couple of weeks ago and he goes up a kilo, but he should be right."
