For several years Luke's understudy at Souths, McInnes is now the Dragons first-choice No. 9 and leader. Luke finds himself at a career crossroad after he was deemed surplus to requirements by the Warriors at the end of last season.
Part of being a captain's not being selfish but my one selfish thing is I hate coming off the field, I want to play 80.
- Cam McInnes
It made him a bargain buy for the Dragons as a back-up to McInnes though the pair featuring in the same 17 each week looms as a strong possibility, with McInnes forced to making an in-game shift to lock.
"Part of being a captain's not being selfish but my one selfish thing is I hate coming off the field, I want to play 80," McInnes said.
"I don't care what position I play as long as I'm out there. The coach [Paul McGregor] will work that out but Isaac's obviously one of the best hookers of the last 20 years.
"The coaching staff will work out what's best for the team and if that means me going into the back row in games I'll do that a hundred per cent. I just want to play.
"We'll see what happens, I'm sure we'll work it out."
