The 2020 Australia Day Aquathon swim-run challenge will be held on the Wollongong foreshore on Sunday and is open to people of all fitness levels.
Aquathon's main event, the long course, consists of a 7km run and 900m swim. Last year's men's winner Nathan Breen will look to defend his title and his competition will include three-time World Ironman champion, Craig Alexander.
It is understood defending women's champion, ACT teenager Chloe Bateup could also return on Sunday.
Other events to be run on the day include the short course (3km run and 400m swim) and the "mini" course (2km run/200m swim).
There will also be kids and teams, and walk, run, roll categories.
Check in will begin at 6.20am on Australia Day. The long course will be the first Aquathon event to get under way at 8am.
In 2020, Aquathon's organisers are throwing their support behind Anglicare's Bushfire Appeal to provide assistance to bushfire-affected communities.
People can donate to the appeal on race day.
