As per tradition, the annual event kicked off at 8am with the Aquathon.
The fireworks did not go ahead this year but the replacement light show over Belmore Basin proved a hit with young and old alike..
More than 40 LED search lights illuminated the harbour as part of the show. This included lights on both breakwalls, the jetty and the foreshore.
The community celebration also included a special parade along Cliff Road featuring representatives from the local Rural Fire Service, as well as NSW Fire & Rescue and the SES.
Members from Mt Keira RFS also did a bucket collection for donations throughout the evening.
Meantime, great weather and tried and tested entertainment highlighted Shellharbour City Council's annual Australia Day celebrations.
